India: an even bigger picture

Smita Srinivas is an Indian pluralist economist whose work includes examining the political economy of the health industry. India has not had good press over its response to the pandemic, but there may be some mitigation in the fact that it is a very large and diverse country.

The Mint caught up with Smita to get a more nuanced understanding of how the pandemic has affected different states in India and what this suggests for the future of its political economy.
