Seven years ago a group of students who were central to the revolt against mainstream economic teaching in universities, published a book, The Econocracy.  This book criticised mainstream economics education and its outsized influence on politics and policy making, which, they claimed, undermined  the very basis of democracy.  The Mint met with Joe Earle, one of the group, to discuss whether anything had changed and how we would know if it had.
