The Mint spent time with Waqar Rizvi, a media commentator in Pakistan, to discuss views from the global South – particularly its perspectives on demands for climate change compensation – and whether they are getting media traction. He asserted that China and Russia have both outsmarted the West diplomatically and the West hasn’t yet clocked that. When it does, Rizvi suggested, maybe it will see no option but to listen to the South’s case.
