Land Value Tax in Practice

There has been substantial interest in the potential of land value tax over the last few years.  It is seen as a way to address the growing inequality in terms of wealth and access to housing.  As a tax, it could provide a good source of revenue and be difficult to avoid. However politically it has always been a challenging sell.

Professor Ted Gwartney spoke about the feasibility and methods for valuing land in the light of his experience doing that in British Columbia and the USA. He gave examples and describe the results after Land Value Tax has been implemented for all the people living on the land including the poorest.
