Interview – Matthew Taylor

Chief Executive of the Royal Society of the Arts, Matthew Taylor, last year led a review for the Government to consider how employment practices needed to change to keep pace with the new gig economy. The ambitious goal set by the Taylor Commission was: “All work in the UK economy should be fair and decent with realistic scope for development and fulfilment”.

The main point was that “good work” should be the goal, not just any old work. Almost one year since the report was published, The Mint talks to Matthew about its genesis and the impact it has had.
