Marjolaine is an Assistant Professor of Information Systems at Warwick Business School, University of Warwick. Her research explores the evolving relationship between technology, work, and organisations, with a particular focus on how digital technologies reshape expertise, skills, learning, and professional practices.
Drawing primarily on ethnographic and qualitative research methods, Marjolaine investigates how people experience and adapt to technological change in their everyday work. Her research has examined diverse contexts, including manufacturing environments where workers use advanced machinery and healthcare settings where physicians use artificial intelligence to support cancer diagnosis. Across these settings, her work explores how technological transformation affects workers’ autonomy, expertise, identity, and opportunities for learning and recognition.
Marjolaine holds a PhD in Management from Emlyon business school, as well as a Specialised Master in Technology and Innovation Management. She also holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Chemistry from CPE Lyon. Before pursuing an academic career, she gained professional experience in the chemical and manufacturing sectors, including roles in laboratory work, project management, and general management.
At Warwick Business School, she teaches and researches topics related to artificial intelligence, digital technologies, organisations, and research methods. Her work contributes to understanding how organisations can navigate technological change while recognising the human dimensions of work.
