Dr Anja Shortland (Meng Oxon, MSc and PhD LSE) is Reader in Political Economy at King’s College London.
Her main research area is the economics of crime and she has published widely on piracy and kidnap for ransom. Her work usually cuts across disciplinary boundaries adopting techniques and insights from sociology, engineering, geography, politics, international relations and economics.
