Scott, now retired, was research professor and founding director of the Centre for Policy Modelling in Manchester, the inaugural president of the European Social Simulation Association and has led numerous European and UK research projects on modelling for social policy analysis. He has been publishing papers using social simulation models in major economics, sociology and specialist journals since 1984.
