David holds a PhD in Economics from Yale University and is Distinguished Professor at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, Xochimilco Campus in Mexico City. . He is recognised for his theory of Radical Ecological Economics, developed during the past 15 years; as recognition for this work, he was awarded the Kenneth Boulding Prize by the International Society for Ecological Economics. His latest books are: ‘From Protest to Proposal: 50 years imagining and building the future‘ (Siglo XXI, 2018) (in Spanish) and Latin America and the Caribbean: One of the Last Frontiers for Life (2024)
