Tinkering of the kind that has been popular over the last 40 years isn’t going to cut it. But is the politics of big solutions possible?

Charles is author of ‘Why Capitalists Need Communists: the Politics of Flourishing’, Senior Fellow at Demos and a co-investigator at the Centre for Understanding Sustainable Prosperity, UK. He was formerly Head of the Centre for Wellbeing at the New Economics Foundation, an advisor at the Sustainable Development Commission and a management consultant. He co-founded Prospect magazine.

She then worked for Nick Clegg from 2006 to 2015, helping to write the 2010 Coalition Agreement, and serving as Director of Policy to the Deputy Prime
Minister from 2010-15.
